Hyang To Gol Korean Restaurant

I have read some good reviews about this restaurant but hesitated to try as those reviews had advised to make reservations and also, the food aint cheap. Also heard that it is one of the popular Korean restaurants that the Korean community in Singapore frequents.
But by chance, on a rainy weekend, we came to this restaurant as it was the next most convenient stop.
Address: 165 Tanjong Pagar Road
Amara Hotel, Level 2
Tel:6220-7160

This greets us at the entrance to the restaurant. This restaurant is not part of the hotel F & B and hence, no carpark redemption or whatsoever privilege attached.
The diners in the restaurant are majority Koreans. I felt I had make a good choice. :)
The menu with chinese name on it.

Their service was good and prompt. We were served by 2 Koreans, one of which we suspect is the ladyboss. Soon came the side dishes. I love the salad.

I ordered the Samgye Tang (Ginseng Chicken Soup). Piping hot and still steaming hot when i finished it. Serving portion is quite big. There were 2 moderately big ginseng roots in the soups. It tasted quite alright.

R has the bibimbap. It came with beef so for non-beef eaters, got to inform them while ordering to exclude the beef or replace with other meat. It was also ok, though I thought it could be better. Maybe this is the authentic korean taste :P

After we finished the main courses. there came the cold ginger drink and fresh fruits! I am always amazed by the effort they take to cut the oranges into round pieces.

Total damage was about $40 for 2 persons. Worth it if you go there with an empty stomach and able to gobble down all the food.
